OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) - Janet Schartung's death is being ruled an accident by Daviess County Coroner Bob Howe.
Schartung, who was 66, was found dead in a creek near the Natcher Bridge in Daviess County on Friday.
The coroner said that she drowned and there was no foul play involved with her death.
Schartung was reported missing on Wednesday.
The Daviess County Sheriff's Department and Kentucky State Police were able to find her vehicle on Thursday using the GPS in her cell phone.
The coroner said Schartung slid down the bank off HWY 60 while trying to revisit a spot where she used to spend time with her late husband.
Police, deputies and troopers searched the area around the Natcher Bridge with dogs and helicopters before they were able to spot Schartung's body Thursday night.
